Cringe with me
“I’m going to go see if there’s anything that needs done.”
I just heard this from an undergrad walking by in my hallway. I'm sorry to be so stuck up about grammar, but I can't help it--this type of "Pennsylvanianese" just drives me nuts. If you can't tell what was wrong with this sentence, maybe The Dougmeister or Sir FromGuam can explain it to you.

Hold on a sec, when did I get knighted?!? Did I miss something? ;)
I'm honored to be mentioned as an authority on grammar, but I'd like a title as well. Viceroy has a nice ring to it, but I'm not picky.
"The Dougmeister" isn't good enough? Hmmm, I thought that was quite a jump up from "The Dog", as you have previously been named.
You make an excellent point. It certainly was an improvement. Are the 2 and a half of you heading back to merry old west Michigan for the holidays?
We are--any chance for getting together? The two and a half of us would be thrilled to hear of your adventures (and anyone else's, for that matter) this past semester. Do you know if The Roubos (and maybe his better half) will be in town?
Jori (sorry, my own blog won't let me sign in to my blogger account anymore)
Let me know when you guys will be in town. I'd love to sit down and catch up with you'll.
And unfortunately, Gayle will not be with Roubos at Christmas. I was so desperately hoping to make Roubos terribly uncomfortable, but alas.
I'll be in the greater Holland area from the 22nd 'til the 30th. I look forward to making Roubos uncomfortable (even if Gayle isn't there.)
I think our current plan is to leave on the 22nd (Saturday), and we'll be there until the 3rd or so. Too bad Gayle can't come, but I'm sure Roubos is dying to tell us all about her.

How does Friday the 28th sound? I will be in Kazoo for most of the week, but I need to be back in GR on the 29th.
I'll check with Dan and let you know. We don't have anything planned for that day yet, so it should work.
